Police Investigate Alleged Blackmail Case Involving Son Heung-min
SEOUL, May 15, 2025 — Police have launched an investigation after South Korean national football team captain Son Heung-min (33, Tottenham Hotspur) filed a criminal complaint alleging blackmail.
According to the Gangnam Police Station, a woman in her 20s and another individual are under investigation for allegedly demanding money from Son by falsely claiming she was pregnant.
Police received the complaint on May 7. Son's side claims that the woman falsely informed him of her pregnancy in June 2024 and demanded several hundred million won in return.
A police official stated, “The details are currently under investigation.”

손씨 측은 지난 7일 고소장을 제출했다. 고소장에는 A씨가 2024년 6월 손씨에게 임신 사실을 거짓으로 알리고, 수억원 상당의 금품을 요구했다는 내용이 담긴 것으로 알려졌다.
경찰 관계자는 “구체적인 사실관계는 현재 수사 중”이라고 말했다.
